While each person has their own unique questions and concerns, we've found some common questions and concerns in working with active, independent seniors for more than 30 years.

  • Can I cook in my new home?

Absolutely! Emerald Pointe was designed to enhance your independence and lifestyle. Each apartment home has a complete kitchen, including a range, refrigerator, microwave oven, and a dishwasher (except in studio apartments). For those days when you don't feel like cooking, you're welcome to join us in our beautiful dining room where we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by our exceptional chef.

  • What if I need personal assistance with some things?

For those periods when you might need a little extra help with some things, like medications, bathing, etc. we work with our residents to identify quality home care providers who can come into your apartment home to assist you. A resident's daughter recently compared the cost of moving her mother into assisted living versus having her mother continue to live at Emerald Pointe and utilizing the services of a home care provider. She found it was far less expensive to have her mom live at Emerald Pointe. If your healthcare needs are greater, assisted living is available right next door to Emerald Pointe so you can obtain the health care services you need while remaining in Emerald Pointe's community, close to friends, spouses, and family.

  • Can I bring my car?

Sure. About half of our residents bring their cars. The other half prefer to leave the driving to us.

  • How often are rents raised and by how much?

Rent increases are dictated by increases in the costs of operating Emerald Pointe. For example, when electricity rates increase, or the City raises the fees for water or sewer, or when the minimun wage is increased. We generally try to limit rent increases to no more than 4% per year based on how much our costs increase. There have been years when there were minimal or no rent increases. And, there have been years when our costs have increased by 8% or more - but, we still try to limit rent increases to 4% per year. If a rent increase is necessary, rents are increased only once per year.

  • Is the building secure?

Security is important to you, and it is important to us as well. At Emerald Pointe, all exterior hallway doors are on an alarm system that notifies our staff and activates our special motion sensitive video security system anytime the door is opened.

  • Are guests welcome?

Any time. Your new home at Emerald Pointe is just like your current home - guests are always welcome.>
